Lucas won...He's right...Most people won't remember the 77,80,and 83 versions of the films. What will be remembered is what's on the blu rays, 4k and disney plus. That's his Star Wars...the versions that he wants people to remember and acknowledge. Download the despecialized editions or project 4k77 and watch those, forget other versions exist and stop complaining.

Obviously, _The Empire Strikes Back_ was an amazing success, because it’s widely considered to be the best movie in the entire franchise to this day.

The truth is george ruined the original star wars intentionally to make empire strikes back look better. He did this by destroying the color and changing the scenes so when you watch it youre automatically not as immersed as the people in 77 were. Before people only liked star wars and now its the other way around and you have a trilogy that peaks in the middle, which is better for the overall story. The quality is now spread across the three films .with empire now being most peoples favorite.

Can't wait for the next anthology movie lol

Assuming DICE would be the developer for it, I seem to remember it coming out that they were planning on making a BF3. And it got canned for battlefield 2042, which went horribly. The only case i can see it happening is if not EA and not DICE make it considering both either have bigger issues at hand or dont wanna touch it. Remember how bad BF2 was for EA? And loot boxes? Im veeeery skeptical that it'll ever come out tbh.

You say that the 2011 version added a blue tint. But you can clearly see that in the ship the despecialized version actually has a blue tint and that the 4k77 version has a green tint. The 2011 version looks the most neutral, at least in the ship.

My first watch i did laugh, rewatches make me understand that it was Luke saying he was better than that weapon that brought alot of pain to others.

To respond to your question about what happens to Star Wars restoration communities once a potential Disney home release of unaltered Star Wars happens: It’s very dependent on the actual quality of that release. Let’s say you’re right and they eventually go through with it, I worry about the execution. Aliens 4k has scary looking AI upscaling and mediocre HDR implementation. Fellowship of the Ring in 4k doesn’t properly fix the horrible tinting present on the blu ray, not to mention the DNR and terrible white vignetting around the flashbacks in all three films an attempt to bring LOTR in line with the look of The Hobbit trilogy 🤮. Call me cynical I just don’t really trust a modern release for a film like Star Wars to not have glaring compromises.
